19 of Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hard surfaces

A revitalized Medvedev won his maiden title for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.

The athlete, a former number one, has endured a challenging period, managing just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.

His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in particular - led to him falling of the top ten and finally separating with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.

Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Moutet.

This represents his initial title since the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court since March of that year.

Victory also means he has secured 21 titles at twenty-one various tournaments.

"For the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is really nice," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the first title I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, comprising in that event earlier this year.

Medvedev's defensive play style and regular outbursts on court had prompted some to question if his skill to play at the top level was over.

But the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and compete positively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

He fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging opponent, taking 4 of the last five games to take the lead.

Both players swapped break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first tour championship, seized the initiative to create a decider.

The opponent rescued 4 early-game chances in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured victory with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
